Family Support Grant

The Family Support Grant is funding offered to agencies and programs that are focused on helping to offer support to at-risk families. This funding has been awarded to the following agencies through June 30, 2019:

  • Eastern Oregon Head Start Conscious Discipline Parent Workshop
  • Eastern Oregon Head Start Home Visiting Kits & Energy Balance Curriculum
  • Umatilla County Pioneer Relief Nursery Baby College
  • Eastern Oregon Head Start Literacy Picnics
  • Umatilla County Special Library District- Take Off!

School Readiness Grant

The School Readiness Grant is funding offered to agencies and programs that offer community-based, high quality early learning experience and/or therapeutic services, with demonstrated positive school readiness. This funding has been awarded to the following agencies through June 30, 2019:

  • Morrow County School District CARE Support
  • Umatilla County Pioneer Relief Nursery Baby College
  • Umatilla County Special Library District- Take Off!
  • Child Care Resources and Referral (UMCHS)- Storytime Express

Healthy, Stable, and Attached Families Grant

The Healthy, Stable, and Attached Families Grant is funding offered to agencies and programs that focus on activities that promote healthy, stable, and attached families. This funding has been awarded to the following agencies through June 30, 2019:

  • Eastern Oregon Head Start Community Calendar
  • Morrow County School District CARE Support
  • Anthony Torretti/UMCHS- Bridges to Opportunity

Other BMEL Hub Awarded Grants

Kindergarten Partnership and Innovation (KPI) Grant

The Kindergarten Partnership and Innovation Grant funds have allowed the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub to develop professional learning teams of child care professionals- 3rd grade teachers. These regional  teams meet monthly to share resources and materials that align best practices and assessment. The grant has also helped fund Conscious Discipline trainings, the Kindergarten Jumpstart program, Parent Cafés, and parent engagement activities. The Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub’s KPI project was chosen by the Early Learning Division and Portland State University to be a case study project for the 2016-2017 school year.

Focused Child Care Network Grant

The focused child care network grant is allowing the Blue Mountain Early Learning Hub to partner with Child Care Research and Referral to offer training and support to child care providers in Morrow County focused on the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)

BMEL Hub Initiatives

  • BMEL Hub Activity Map English | Spanish (PDF) -funded projects and activities
  • The BMEL Hub is also helping fund and/or support the following initiatives:
    • Waterford UPSTART in-home kindergarten readiness piloted program (2018-2019)-The BMEL Hub is partnering with local school districts to provide this program to children not attending preschool due to transportation or who are on a waiting list.
    • Pre-K Scholarships- The Hub is working with Child Care Resource and Referral to partner with local providers to offer scholarships to unserved children to attend preschool during the 2018-2019 school year.
    • Kindergarten Jumpstart- The BMEL Hub is partnering with interested school districts in all three counties to provide a two to three-week, ½ day summer program to prepare children for kindergarten.
    • Conscious Discipline Trainings- The Hub is continuing to offer one-day initial Conscious Discipline trainings to partnering agencies and educators across the region.
